China News Service, January 14th. Li Kuiwen, a spokesperson for the General Administration of Customs and Director of the Statistical Analysis Department, said on the 14th that as of 24:00 on the 13th, customs across the country had sampled 1,295,692 imported cold chain food samples, and detected positive results of nucleic acid 47. All other samples are negative.

On the morning of the 14th, the State Council Information Office held a press conference on the import and export situation in 2020.

At the meeting, a reporter asked: The current global epidemic situation is still very severe. What measures have the customs taken to prevent the risk of imported cold chain food from the new crown pneumonia epidemic?

What is the current effect?

Li Kuiwen said that the General Administration of Customs strictly follows the overall deployment of the State Council's joint prevention and control mechanism to increase the quarantine of imported cold chain foods to prevent the risk of the new crown pneumonia epidemic being imported through imported cold chain foods.

There are four main approaches:

One is to further strengthen source control.

Strengthen communication and consultation with the competent authorities of exporting countries, requiring them to follow the regulatory guidelines issued by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to supervise and urge domestic food exporters to implement the FAO/WHO Guidelines for Food Enterprises, and strictly prevent food export to China Packaging is contaminated by the new crown virus in all links of production, processing, storage, and transportation.

We have also notified the competent authorities of exporting countries of the "Technical Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of New Coronavirus in the Production and Operation of Cold-chain Foods" and the "Technical Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of New Coronavirus in the Production and Operation of Cold-chain Foods" formulated by the National Health Commission, and follow up and supervise the export of food to China Enterprises shall take preventive measures in time for the implementation of the technical guidelines.

At present, 124 cold-chain food manufacturers in 21 countries where employees have been infected with the new crown pneumonia have taken measures to suspend their product imports. Among them, 107 companies have voluntarily suspended exports to China after the outbreak.

The second is to strengthen the risk monitoring of imported cold chain foods for the new coronavirus.

Implement the new coronavirus nucleic acid sampling test for imported cold chain foods, and focus on increasing the sampling test for imported seafood and other cold chain foods.

As of 24:00 yesterday, a total of 1,295,692 samples were sampled and tested by customs across the country, 47 of which were positive for nucleic acid, and all other samples were negative.

The third is to implement emergency preventive measures after the positive is detected.

In response to the detection of positive new coronavirus nucleic acid on imported cold chain food or its packaging by customs and localities, the General Administration of Customs has implemented emergency preventive measures for foreign food production companies that have detected positive to suspend their product import declarations for one to four weeks. Emergency preventive measures have been taken against 39 overseas food production and business units.

The fourth is to carry out preventive disinfection work in the port link. Strictly implement the "Preventive and Comprehensive Disinfection Work Plan for Imported Cold Chain Food" under the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council, do a good job in the preventive disinfection of imported cold chain food at the port link, strengthen cooperation with relevant departments, and strictly prevent the new crown pneumonia epidemic from importing cold chain food risk. As of 24:00 on January 13, 13.17 million imported cold-chain food outer packages have been preventively disinfected at ports across the country.
