On Thursday, the Israeli Foreign Ministry revealed the appointment of a chargé d'affaires at its embassy in Bahrain, as a result of the acceleration of the normalization of relations between Tel Aviv and Manama.
The ministry said on its Twitter account that the Chargé d'Affairs of the Israeli ambassador to Bahrain is Itay Tagner, and added that Tagner met with the Bahraini Foreign Ministry's undersecretary for international affairs, Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.
She pointed out that the Israeli diplomat appointed in Manama expressed to the Bahraini official "Israel's appreciation for the wise and pioneering policy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which contributes to enhancing the security and prosperity of the region."
Itai Tagner, Acting Ambassador of Israel to Bahrain, met with Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Under-Secretary of the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs.

Since the signing of the normalization agreement under US auspices in mid-September, political and economic relations between Bahrain and Israel have grown.
Last November, Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdul Latif Al-Zayani visited Israel and agreed with its officials to exchange embassies and grant visas to travelers from both sides.
On the occasion of the signing of the normalization agreement in Washington, the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, considered the normalization of his country's relations with Israel a historic achievement that would contribute to advancing the peace and stability process in the Middle East.
