Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Economics Minister Harry Glawe (CDU) has announced further support programs for the state's economy.

For example, companies that are waiting for federal aid to be paid out and have liquidity problems could get interest-free bridging finance from the state, said Glawe on Thursday after a meeting of the state government with top representatives from business and trade unions.

If the money from the federal government then flows, the bridge financing will be paid back.

In addition, a market presence premium of 5000 euros for retailers is planned as a subsidy to stimulate the retail sector.

Glawe, who is also Minister of Health, said that the current corona measures could not be relaxed in January. The number of infections is currently too high for that. However, a task force is to be set up to prepare opening scenarios for the economy now. According to Glawe, the federal and state governments have paid out EUR 555 million in corona aid to around 52,000 companies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since the beginning of the pandemic.
