January 14, 2021 The coronavirus emergency is putting the Italian family to a severe test.

According to the national divorce association, in 2020 there was a quantifiable annual increase in separations of around 60%.

"Separation requests, mainly due to forced cohabitation, have increased enormously", explains Matteo Santini, president of the National Divorce Lawyers Association.

The numbers are slightly different, but equally dramatic for the Italian marriage lawyers association.

"The pandemic has created the family emergency, not only the economic one - says the president of AMI, the lawyer Gian Ettore Gassani - who underlines not only the increase in requests for separations, but also denounces an increase in violence at family interior.
