The Human Resources Authority in Abu Dhabi signed a new agreement with Emirates Global Aluminum, the largest industrial company in the country outside the oil and gas sector, regarding cooperation to provide job opportunities for young national cadres registered in the authority’s database, through the national training program “smelter operator” of the company .

The company explained that according to the agreement, permanent work contracts will be signed with those enrolled in the training program from the first day, and after the successful completion of the training period, which takes one year, jobs are provided to citizens in the operational operations within the smelters of the company, noting that it provides national training programs at its headquarters in « Al Taweelah ”and“ Jebel Ali ”, to enable young citizens who have not completed their studies, to obtain job opportunities in the company.

She stated that it includes more than 1,000 citizens in its sectors, among the more than 5,000 citizens who graduated from the company's national training programs, which began in 1982, pointing out that the total employees of the company in the country exceeded 7,000 employees, including 250 officials in higher administrative and supervisory positions. Citizens occupy 40% of them.

It stated that it has six training programs to qualify and employ young citizens, the first of which is the "National Maintenance Training Program", which starts in September of each year, and has a duration of three years, and provides young citizens the opportunity to qualify to work as technicians in the field of electrical and mechanical maintenance systems and equipment maintenance. It includes periodic theoretical classes, workshops and training at the company's maintenance sites.

She explained that the graduates are granted an internationally recognized "3 degree in engineering" issued by the "Box Hill" Institute in Australia, and certified by the Australian Authority for Technical and Further Education.

The second training program is called the "National Training Program in Smelting", and it receives those wishing to join it twice a year (March and September), with a duration of six months, and gives citizens the opportunity to acquire learning skills on the mechanism of work in the company's smelters, and gain knowledge and practical experience from the work site On successful completion of the program, the graduates will be appointed as service operators, and they will be assigned the tasks of operating one of the aluminum smelters in the shift system.

The third training program is devoted to "power stations", as it opens its doors in September of each year, and has a duration of one year, during which it allows citizens the opportunity to gain theoretical and practical knowledge and professional experience. The number of admitted trainees and the number of times the training program is conducted according to the needs of the staff and skills .

The company provides a national training program in the "water desalination plant", which begins in September annually, and lasts for one year. It provides citizens with the opportunity to gain theoretical and practical knowledge and professional experience. Upon successful completion of the training program, the graduates are appointed as assistant operators in the company's desalination plant in Jabal Ali.

The national "technical" training program, which lasts for one year, provides young citizens with the opportunity to qualify to work as technicians, and the ability to work in various technical departments, such as laboratories and the company's operations control departments, and upon successful completion of the program, graduates are granted a "certificate in procedures." Class 2 technology, issued by City and Guilds College in Britain.
