Dresden (dpa) - In connection with the theft of jewels from the Green Vault in Dresden, a quick indictment is not expected in the next few months.

"That will take a while," said a spokesman for the Dresden public prosecutor of the German press agency on Thursday.

The investigations are extensive, especially the viewing of the many storage media takes time.

After the recent raid in Berlin, further evidence was to be evaluated, including eight cell phones.

During the spectacular break-in of the Treasury Museum on November 25, 2019, the perpetrators stole historical jewelery made of diamonds and brilliant-cut diamonds of hardly any value.

Less than a year later, the police arrested three suspects in Berlin.

The 23 and 26 year old men belong to the well-known Remmo extended family of Arab origin.

Two 21-year-old twin brothers of the clan escaped.

One of them was then caught in mid-December 2020, the other is being searched at high speed internationally.

So far, none of the four out of five urgent suspects in custody have spoken out.

They are accused of serious gang theft and arson.

The search triggered in November 2020 continues to receive isolated indications, as of Tuesday there were a total of 216. "None of them was effective for the arrest," said the public prosecutor's office.

There is still no trace of the stolen pieces of jewelery from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The special commission «Epaulette» is working flat out to clear up the case, he said.

"When a degree can be expected cannot be reliably said at the moment."
