Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The German Police Union of Rhineland-Palatinate (DPolG) is calling for the police to expand the home office to protect employees and ensure continued functionality.

"Wherever it is possible and sensible, the employer must enable it promptly," said Deputy State Chairman Patrick Müller on Thursday.

Activities in the area of evaluation, data acquisition or conceptual work would be offered.

"Although this list is certainly not exhaustive," said Müller.

The opportunity to work in the home office should not fail because of the cost of end devices - such as computers - or a traditional presence culture, he emphasized according to a statement.

After the corona pandemic, the purchased devices could help improve the work-life balance.

"Especially for part-time workers, home office should offer the opportunity to increase their weekly working hours," said Müller.
