Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - Saxony-Anhalt wants to take part in the digital International Green Week next week in Berlin with two short videos and a live broadcast.

The aim is to reflect the diversity of the food industry in the state, said Jörg Bühnemann, managing director of the agricultural marketing company Saxony-Anhalt on Thursday at the presentation of the program.

The company organizes the trade fair appearance on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment.

One of the videos shows the process of the “Culinary Saxony-Anhalt” competition.

"This is about sensor technology, about the taste experience," explains Bühnemann.

In addition, insights into three companies that have already received awards in previous years would be provided.

These included the Hannemann coffee roastery in Köthen, Keunecke Feinkost from Badeborn (Harz), and Salzwedeler Baumkuchen GmbH.

According to the agricultural society, the second video shows the special features of regional added value from production to sale.

As an example, a farmer from fir (Harz) and the work in a Stendal barn shop was accompanied with the camera.

Environment Minister Claudia Dalberg (Greens) will award the winners of a regional organic award in a live broadcast on January 20th.

Only regional and organically certified products that have not yet been on the market were admitted to the competition.

According to Bühnemann, the prize is intended to promote product innovations.

This year, the agricultural trade fair Green Week will take place digitally for the first time between January 20 and 21 due to the corona restrictions.

In addition to the videos, lectures and discussions are to be broadcast live on the Internet.
