Großhartau / Niederwiesa (dpa / sn) - Traces in the snow have led the police in East Saxony to a suspected car thief.

As the police in Görlitz announced on Wednesday, an initially unknown perpetrator had stolen a car in Niederwiesa near Chemnitz.

Investigators then made the 45,000 euro car in the early morning in Großhartau in the Bautzen district.

The empty car was parked in a wooded area.

Traces in the snow led from the car towards the forest.

The officers followed the prints and came across the 35-year-old.

The man was arrested on suspicion of theft.
