China News Service, January 13th. According to the WeChat official account of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, since January 8th, all passengers on flights departing from Egypt to China must be selected from the list of testing agencies designated by the Chinese Embassy in Egypt. Home testing agencies conduct "cross-double testing" of nucleic acid and serum antibodies of the new coronavirus pneumonia.

The embassy now explained the six issues of concern to passengers since the implementation of the new approach as follows:

1. Why are passengers required to undergo "cross-dual testing"?

  Since the autumn and winter, the epidemic situation in Egypt has become more severe and complex. Recently, several positive cases have been detected after the arrival of several flights to China, triggering almost all three direct routes between China and Egypt to be broken between mid-January and February.

The implementation of "cross-dual testing" aims to eliminate fraudulent concealment of medical conditions and illegal "representative inspections" to ensure that the test results are true, accurate and effective. This is essential to prevent the import of the epidemic and ensure the smooth operation of commercial flights between China and Egypt.

  The current global epidemic is raging. Every passenger going to China is obliged to abide by China’s epidemic prevention and control regulations, and to do “cross-dual testing” in strict accordance with the requirements. Every Chinese citizen should understand and support domestic prevention and control measures. Responsible.

2. What testing agencies are designated by the embassy?

  At present, the embassy accepts the Central Public Health Laboratories of the Cairo Ministry of Health (Central Public Health Laboratories), Egypt's Om ElNor Hospital (Om ElNor Hospital), the Clinical pathology laboratory (Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University) and The inspection report issued by the internal inspection point established by the airline after filing with the embassy.

3. What materials should passengers submit?

  (1) The negative report of nucleic acid test and the negative report of serum antibody test issued by two testing institutions respectively;

  (2) The passport data page of the applicant;

  (3) The photos taken by the applicant during the sampling of nasopharyngeal swabs at the two testing institutions shall require no face coverage and eyes open;

  (4) Egypt entry stamp (if you are a transit person from a third country who has recently entered Egypt, please submit the green code of the place of departure);

  (5) Foreign passengers need to submit the "Declaration of Health Status";

  (6) Other supplementary materials required by the auditors.

4. When should the inspection, submit the application and how long will the review result be obtained?

  (1) The HS code and HDC code are valid for 48 hours from sampling. Passengers are requested to submit the application as soon as possible after obtaining the test report.

  (2) The embassy will accept applications one by one according to the principle of "early submission, early review".

Due to the unstable network in Egypt and the large amount of centralized review on the day of flight departure, applicants are requested to submit applications as soon as possible and wait patiently. Applicants who submit applications during the intensive period will take about 6 hours to receive the review results.

In view of this, the application submission time should be no later than 4 pm on the day of the flight. Those who fail to submit the application in time may not be able to obtain the HS code or HDC code before departure.

5. What should I do if it is inconvenient to take pictures in the central laboratory?

  The embassy has been coordinating the central laboratory through various channels to provide convenience for passengers on flights to China.

According to the laboratory, it will be more convenient for passengers to take pictures if they can be tested early in the morning.

Here is a special reminder that passengers going to China should go to the queue as early as possible.

The embassy also did the work of Egypt Air, and Egypt Air stated that it is contacting the Central Laboratory to try to arrange on-site inspections for passengers entering the designated hotel on the January 14 flight.

Passengers on the same day's flight should pay attention to promptly consult Egypt Airlines for specific arrangements, so as not to miss the inspection window.

6. What should I do if I am issued a "red code"?

  Due to the large amount of review materials and complicated review procedures, applicants are requested to pay attention to the color change of the nucleic acid code in the mini program at any time after submitting the application.

Please wait patiently when you are in the yellow code status; do not relax your mind after obtaining the green code. The green code may change from the green code to the red code because the review failed before takeoff; if the nucleic acid code turns red, please correct it in time according to the reviewer’s message Adjust and submit supplementary materials (vaccination certificate, nucleic acid code issued by the overseas agency of the origin, Chinese exit stamp, domestic contact number, air ticket, etc.) or home isolation observation.
