It has been a violent election campaign and Bobi Wine has been arrested several times by police.

But when SVT's team interviews Wine, ahead of the upcoming election day, he expresses optimism about the upcoming election result.

- The elections have not been free.

But that does not mean we can not win.

This is a revolution, he says.

Blocks social media

Social media platforms have been used extensively by both sides to campaign for Thursday's election.

According to a letter received by the news agencies Reuters and AFP, Uganda's communications authority has ordered telecom companies to "immediately suspend all access and use" of social media and other chat platforms.

"Represents ordinary people"

According to Bobi Wine, or Robert Kyagulany as he is actually called, he represents the people.

- General Museveni has never faced an ordinary citizen.

But I represent a large number of ordinary people, poor people, excluded, angry and hungry people, he tells SVT.
