Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - Despite the high number of corona infections in Saarland, the 15-kilometer rule for restricting tourist excursions does not come into force for the time being.

The Ministry of Health announced this on Wednesday evening in Saarbrücken.

Due to delays in reporting for the Saarbrücken regional association and a definable cluster event in the Saarlouis district, the temporary introduction of the radius regulation is dispensed with in both districts.

This is done in agreement with the health authorities.

In Saarland, the 15 km rule actually applies if the incidence of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants is above 200 within seven days - for three days in a row.

According to the Robert Koch Institute, the Saarbrücken regional association was around 252 on Wednesday morning, and around 201 in the Saarlouis district. While the limit of 200 in the Saarbrücken regional association was exceeded on Wednesday on the third day, in the Saarlouis district this was only on the second day the case.

The decision in favor of the Saarbrücken regional association was based on the incorrect presentation of the incidence values at the RKI, explained the ministry.

Because of the switch to software, there were late reports of corona cases.

The current incidence rate is therefore only around 171. In the Saarlouis district, there have been five corona outbreaks in old people's homes that are "locally limited and also spatially isolated".
