Safwat Al-Sharif, born on December 19, 1933, is an Egyptian politician with a BA in Military Sciences, and one of the General Intelligence officers in the 1960s.

Al-Sharif was a founding member of the National Party in 1966, and held a number of positions in it, most notably the Secretary General for a period of nearly 10 years, and he also held the position of Minister of Information, Chairman of the Shura Council, as well as the presidency of the State Information Service.
