Hanover (dpa / lni) - The Greens and the FDP parliamentary groups are calling for a special session of the Lower Saxony state parliament before the next federal-state consultations on the corona lockdown.

In order to be able to influence the position of Lower Saxony at the meeting of the federal states with the Chancellor on January 25, the special meeting would have to be convened beforehand - around February 22, the Greens announced.

On Wednesday the Greens and the FDP wanted to approach the SPD and CDU with their demands.

A quarter of the MPs must support the wish;

The Greens and the FDP also do not get this share together.

From the point of view of the Greens, a special session only makes sense if parliament can also participate in decision-making on key issues relating to further combating the corona pandemic. After the debate, there must therefore be decisions and thus votes on specific proposals that the state parliament gives the state government for the top meeting, said a parliamentary group spokesman.
