Berlin (dpa) - The Federal Ministry of Health has given the all-clear for Berlin and Brandenburg after doubts about the cooling of corona vaccines from the manufacturer Moderna.

"The quality of the vaccines was not affected by the transport, and the vaccines can be used safely," said a spokesman on request on Wednesday in Berlin.

Accordingly, the distribution centers of the two federal states have already been informed of this by the Bundeswehr responsible for vaccine logistics.

The Berlin Senate Administration had previously announced that it would hold back the first Moderna cans for the time being.

There are doubts as to whether the transport and cooling had been carried out properly before the takeover by the State of Berlin.

The carrier and the manufacturer were asked to provide clarification.

2,400 cans had arrived on Tuesday.

Brandenburg also reported problems.

2400 cans have also arrived there.

The state ministry stated that the transport from the central depot in Quakenbrück to the central contact point in Brandenburg could have resulted in cooling problems, under the responsibility of the federal government.

This should be checked.

Vaccinations are already running with the first approved vaccine from the manufacturers Biontech and Pfizer.
