Munich (dpa / lby) - FC Bayern Munich wants to take the second step to defend its title in the DFB Cup today (8.45 p.m.).

The record cup winner has to play in the catch-up game of the 2nd round at the second division soccer team Holstein Kiel.

"Kiel has nothing to lose," warned coach Hansi Flick of the outsider.

The third in the table has established himself at the top in the second division: "This is a task that we will approach with the necessary respect."

Bayern have to compete in the Holstein Stadium without the ailing offensive forces Kingsley Coman and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

The German record champion could reach the second round for the 20th time in a row.

The possible opponent is already clear: The second division Darmstadt 98 would have to compete in Munich at the beginning of February.
