Potsdam (dpa / bb) - After the chaotic start of the allocation of appointments in the Corona vaccination centers via the phone number 116 117, the doctors in Brandenburg see an improvement.

"We are still dissatisfied with the hotline," said the chief executive of the Brandenburg Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, Peter Noack, of the German press agency.

"But we can clearly see in the last few days that this is getting better."

On the first day around 23,000 people called the hotline, and less than ten percent of the calls were accepted.

"Now it has leveled off at around 3500 to 3700 incoming calls per day."

That is an acceptance rate of 85 to 90 percent.

In the first few days, the rush to the hotline and technical problems meant that many callers couldn't get through and were annoyed.

“It was surprising that so many were calling.

We are beaten for it that doesn't work, ”said Noack.

In a nationwide comparison, however, the call centers for Brandenburg with 150 employees are well equipped in his opinion.

The vaccination itself has also been rather slow in Brandenburg so far - according to the will of the statutory health insurance physicians, this should go faster.

From the point of view of the CEO, more vaccine from the federal government is necessary for this.
