Dubai Health Authority expects to vaccinate priority groups ahead of schedule

The Dubai Health Authority expected that the "Pfizer - Biontech" vaccine will be available to all groups of society in Dubai next March, after the completion of the vaccination of the priority groups.

The Executive Director of the Supportive Medical Services and Nursing and the Chair of the Steering Committee for the Vaccination of "Covid-19" in the Authority, Dr. Farida Al Khaja, told "Emirates Today" that the vaccination campaign in the centers of the authority is witnessing a daily increase in the number of those who wish to take the vaccine, which is likely to end The first stage is ahead of schedule (end of March), and the beginning of the second stage before its scheduled date (early April).

The vaccination campaign is carried out in two phases, the first starting on December 23 last year, targeting priority groups of citizens and residents, in categories that include senior citizens, elderly residents, people with chronic diseases, members of the first line of defense and vital jobs, while the second phase targets all segments Society, Al-Khaja stated that the authority aims to achieve community immunity, by covering at least 70% of the emirate’s population, adding that the vaccine is safe and effective to prevent “Covid-19”, calling on all groups of society, especially the priority ones, to take the initiative to take it.

The authority had set conditions for employees who would receive the vaccine within the first phase, including that they be from the specified groups, and that they should not be immunologically ill, or had been previously infected with the Corona virus during the last three months, or had previously been vaccinated against “Covid-19” And not to be remote employees.

She explained that the vaccination, which will be given in two doses, does not incur any financial cost, nor is it mandatory.
