Leipzig (AP) - Alen Milosevic is the fifth player from the handball Bundesliga club SC DHfK Leipzig to go to the World Cup in Egypt.
The club confirmed this on Wednesday.
Circle runner Milosevic is part of the Swiss squad, who will take part in the title fights starting on Wednesday as a replacement for the USA.
In addition to Milosevic, Philipp Weber, Marko Mamic (Croatia), Maciej Gebala (Poland) and Kristian Saeveras (Norway) from Leipzig will also take part in the World Cup.
Switzerland's first group game against Austria is scheduled for Thursday (6:00 p.m.).
Other opponents of Milosevic and Co. are Norway (Saturday) and France (January 18).
The USA had decided not to participate in the World Cup due to almost 20 corona cases.
