Krefeld (dpa / lnw) - After an iron bar attack on a 17-year-old in Krefeld, a courageous helper was seriously injured.
The man stood in the way of the offending perpetrator and then collided with him, the police said on Tuesday.
The 38-year-old fell to the ground and was seriously injured in a hospital.
The unknown perpetrator hit the 17-year-old on Monday evening while driving past with the iron bar against the back of the head and slightly injured her.
Three witnesses observed the crime from inside a car.
While a 29-year-old took care of the young person, the 38-year-old and his brother chased the cyclist.
They caught up with the perpetrator and tried to stop him.
But this did not stop.
After the collision, the cyclist fled.
The police took over the investigation.
