At the time of the accident, there were no operators in the "First Middle Section", 13 "Six Middle Section" (698 meters from the wellhead) and 9 "Fifth Middle Section" (648 meters from the wellhead).
The explosion caused damage between the wellbore ladders, the cages could not operate normally, and the communication system was damaged. 22 people were trapped underground.
After the accident, the company quickly organized rescue efforts, but due to underestimation of the rescue difficulties, it did not report the situation to the Qixia Emergency Management Bureau until 20:05 on January 11. There was a problem of late reporting.
At 20:48, after the Yantai Municipal Party Committee received the accident report, the main leaders of the Yantai Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government rushed to the scene of the accident as soon as possible, mobilized forces from various parties, carried out rescue efforts, and released relevant information in a timely manner.
