In Tuesday's episode of Corona special, state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell answered viewer questions.

One of them was why the Swedish Public Health Agency finally decided to recommend oral protection.

- Now we, especially the health care, are in such a strained situation.

We have introduced a lot of different measures, they have not been enough all the way forward and then we need to turn to measures that we do not think are particularly effective or will have a huge effect.

Oral protection is thus the measure that the Public Health Agency does not believe will change much, but which is taken to try to attack the problem from several directions at the same time.

- Now we need to use the entire arsenal to stop this.

Especially now when many more people take the bus because it is this time of year, then we still end up in that even though it does not give a huge effect and is very important to continue to keep distance and stay at home, mouth guards still have a role right now, in at least for a period, answered state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell.
