Gießen (dpa / lhe) - The police found five sharp firearms and 2000 cartridges in a suspected Reich citizen in the Gießen district.

The man had this legally owned, but weapons and accessories were taken from him to avert danger, the police said on Tuesday.

As a precaution, a special task force was involved in the operation last Thursday.

Since a cartridge was found in the apartment for which the man had no authorization according to initial investigations, he is being investigated for violating the weapons law.

According to the police, the 62-year-old is at least close to the Reich citizen scene.

Reich citizens do not recognize the laws of the Federal Republic and claim that the German Reich continues to exist.
