Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - A lobbyist from the vaccination division of the pharmaceutical manufacturer Sanofi has been working for the NRW state government in corona crisis management since the beginning of the year.

The previous "Head of Public Affairs" at Sanofi Germany, Stefan Kentrup, has been released from his company, said a government spokeswoman in Düsseldorf.

His work as a speaker in the office of the Corona Crisis Coordination Council is limited to June.

The "Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung" reports in its Tuesday edition on the personnel.

According to the State Chancellery, the position was advertised in order to gain “additional personal support and expertise” at the beginning of the vaccination.

Kentrup is particularly concerned with the preparation and follow-up of the meetings of the crisis team.

The body, to which all State Secretaries belong, is intended to facilitate coordination between the ministries and the State Chancellery.

Kentrup brought "in-depth knowledge" that will be particularly needed in the coming months, said the spokeswoman for the decision.

In order to avoid conflicts of interest, a special confidentiality agreement and a code of conduct have been agreed.

He is concerned with the internal government coordination and does not perceive any external contacts, especially not with companies.

He is also bound to secrecy towards his previous employer.

According to information from the WAZ, there is still criticism, including in the ministerial administration.

The lobby control association sees a conflict of interest that cannot be resolved by confidentiality agreements and a code of conduct.

"Rather, the credibility of the actions of the crisis coordination council is endangered by such a personnel policy," said a spokesman for the "WAZ".
