Hanover (dpa / lni) - The Hanover Administrative Court has dismissed a lawsuit by the Hanover Fisheries Association against the construction of the planned line shaft near the state parliament.

The wave is intended to be used for water sports, especially river surfing.

The association asserted, among other things, that the environmental impact of the project had not been adequately investigated and that no appropriate administrative procedure with appropriate public participation had been carried out.

In the opinion of the chamber, the Hanover region has sufficiently determined the relevant facts during the preliminary environmental impact assessment, the court announced on Tuesday.

From the knowledge gained in the process, she concluded that the project would not have any significant adverse effects on the environment.

The court allowed the appeal to the Lower Saxony Higher Administrative Court against the judgment.

The Leinewelle association has been promoting the project since 2013.

The Hanover region actually approved the artificially generated wave at the beginning of 2019.

The model for the idea was the Munich Eisbach wave.
