Berlin (dpa) - Despite a good first half, Alba Berlin conceded its twelfth defeat in the 19th game in the Euroleague.

On Tuesday, the weakened basketball Bundesliga team lost to the Turkish top team Anadolu Efes Istanbul with 76:84 (44:36).

For Alba it was the fifth game in just ten days.

The best Berlin throwers were Jayson Granger with 17 and Ben Lammers with 14 points.

Alba was again missing coach Aito Garcia Reneses (Corona quarantine) and the injured Luke Sikma and Niels Giffey.

Marcus Eriksson, who was back in the squad against Gießen last Sunday, was also missing.

Problems continue to plague the Swedes.

But playmaker Peyton Siva returned.

And his decimated team found the game well.

While the hosts took longer to find their rhythm.

Alba was so quickly 10: 3 lead.

Only then did the Turks hit better.

But the guests took the lead back thanks to good defensive work.

Again and again they could play quick counter-attacks and score simple points.

A good two minutes before the break, the Berliners were even able to break away in two digits (44:32).

After changing sides, Anadolu then increased the intensity.

So the German champion rarely found good throwing positions.

In the third quarter, Anadolu took the lead back.

Alba fought in the last section, but simply lacked the strength.

The hosts' victory was no longer in danger.
