It was 7:20 p.m. when the power was cut.

Monday evening, 89 homes in the rue de la Fonderie, in Rennes, were plunged into darkness for a little over an hour.

A power cut operated by Enedis after an unusual alert, described as "quite rare".

A rat had just been discovered in an electrical box in a building in the rue de la Fonderie, located not far from the police station and the judicial district.

To prevent the animal from damaging the equipment or causing a short circuit, the manager of the French electricity network preferred to cut off the current, while a technician was sent to the scene.

The return to normal was observed at 8:30 p.m., i.e. one hour ten minutes cut.

History does not say what happened to the famous rat.
