Ludwigslust (dpa / mv) - The first 1200 Corona vaccination doses from the manufacturer Moderna for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are to be delivered to vaccination centers in Schwerin and Greifswald this week.

Health Minister Harry Glawe (CDU) said on Tuesday at the start of the vaccination center in Ludwigslust.

The 1200 cans should arrive in MV on Tuesday and be forwarded quickly.

A further 1200 Moderna doses are expected next week, in addition to the currently around 10,000 vaccine doses from Biontech-Pfizer.

The initial difficulties in assigning appointments for the vaccination centers on Monday had meanwhile given, Glawe assured.

On Tuesday the lines were no longer overloaded.

He appealed to the people to wait until they are contacted by the State Office for Health and Social Affairs and only then call the telephone number given to make an appointment for a vaccination.

So far 5,000 letters have been sent out and 8,000 people called on Monday.

It doesn't help to call without a letter, perhaps to get an appointment faster.

"Anyone who has not received a letter is not listed and only blocks the call center," the minister clarified.

By Tuesday noon, 1030 vaccination appointments were given in MV.

According to Glawe, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will initially set aside half of the vaccine supplied for the second vaccination.

This should take place for both vaccines - Biontech and Moderna - after 28 days.

Initially, the second injection was planned for the Biontech vaccine after 21 days.
