Berlin (dpa / bb) - In Brandenburg, the school cloud of the Hasso Plattner Institute became the target of a hacker attack on Monday.

According to a report by Rundfunks Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB), a message was displayed on the page that a DDoS attack would lead to delays and accessibility problems.

In such attacks (Distributed Denial of Service Attack, literally: distributed denial of service attack), a site is requested by a large number of computers at the same time and thus blocked.

A spokeswoman for the institute confirmed the attack to the RBB.

During the day there was massive access from abroad.

In the meantime, however, the cloud should work again without restrictions.

According to earlier information from the Ministry of Education, the school cloud is used by at least 562 schools in Brandenburg for distance teaching.

The Hasso Plattner Institute is named after the founder of the SAP group.
