The US online service Parler, which is particularly used by rights, was switched off on Monday for the time being.

The network could no longer be reached shortly after midnight on Monday night (local time, 9 a.m. CET), as reported by the portal "Down For Everyone Or Just Me".

The US Internet giant Amazon had previously announced that it would delete Parler from its server.

The online service then announced that it was looking for a new technical provider;

apparently he has not yet succeeded in doing this.

Amazon had announced the move after the storming of the Capitol in Washington by militant supporters of the elected US President Donald Trump.

In a letter to Parler, Amazon wrote that the network had not acted fast enough against violent content on the platform.

The Internet companies Google and Apple Parler had previously banned from their app stores.

Parler started in 2018 and was initially a home for right-wing extremists.

But since networks like Facebook and Twitter have been actively combating false reports as well as racist and violence-glorifying content, platforms such as Parler, Newsmax and Rumble have gained massive popularity.

Among other things, supporters of Trump who believe his unsubstantiated election fraud allegations avoided the platforms.
