Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - A vaccination list for vaccination appointments against Corona that was newly launched in Saarland got off to a good start on Monday.

"It's going well," said a spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Saarbrücken.

The new system, which replaces the previous appointment booking, ensures fair distribution.

Since Monday morning, eligible citizens have been able to have their vaccination list written to them online or via the Saarland Corona hotline and their entry is automatically confirmed by email, SMS or letter.

There is no rush to enter the vaccination list, the ministry said.

The vaccination list is activated for two weeks (until January 25th).

Then the appointments would be assigned by a random generator.

All registered citizens who are eligible for vaccination and registered on the vaccination list during the period would be considered.

Via the vaccination list offer, those willing to vaccinate can be given a perspective.

The Ministry of Health could now say: "You are registered, you will get an appointment," said the spokesman.

Appointments would then be assigned for the period from February.

The dates until the end of January are already booked out.

The way via such a list is special nationwide.

One hopes that the offer, if it works out well, will catch on.

Around 120,000 Saarlanders are first entitled to the Federal Vaccination Ordinance and the Standing Vaccination Commission.

So far, according to the Robert Koch Institute, 8,232 people (as reported: Saturday 11 a.m.) have been vaccinated against the corona virus in Saarland.

This means that the rate is 8.3 vaccinations per 1000 inhabitants and thus above the national average for the federal states of 6.4.
