Nettetal (dpa / lnw) - According to the federal police, a man visibly trembling with nervousness was caught on the A61 near Nettetal with around 118,000 euros in cash in the car.

He also had a fake Bulgarian police badge with him.

As the federal police announced on Monday, the man and a woman (24) had been checked on Saturday and had given completely different information as to where they had started.

He said Brussels, she said Rotterdam.

A bit puzzled, the officers discovered a baton, an electric shock device, dangerous knives, the fake badge and 2.7 kilos of cash (106,000 euros) in a bag behind the driver's seat and another 12,300 euros in the handbag of the Swiss car Woman.

The customs investigation office in Essen took over the further investigation.

The two suspects were released.
