Jimmie Åkesson is clear in SVT's Aktuellt with his criticism of Donald Trump.

- Trump has handled the election defeat in a completely unworthy way.

To not acknowledge the election defeat despite all the processes that have taken place and despite the fact that there must be beyond all reasonable doubt for all that the electoral fraud he has talked about has not been to such an extent that it has affected the election outcome, it draws a shimmer of ridicule over democracy, he says.

Want conservative government

Still, he wished the election would have ended differently.

- It is clear that I choose a conservative government and a conservative government in the United States over a left-liberal government and left-liberal government.

"Major shortcomings"

Jimmie Åkesson himself says in the interview that Donald Trump lacks empathy and other qualities attributed to nice people, but that the presidential election is not a popularity contest, but a choice about which direction the United States should take in domestic, foreign, security and trade policy.

This is something that affects us in Europe and which we do not discuss enough, says Åkesson.

- It's more about which candidate is kind and which is stupid.

It is clear that it is quite obvious that Donald Trump has major shortcomings, but politically I prefer the Republicans to a left-liberal government.
