Braunschweig (dpa) - Second division football team Fortuna Düsseldorf did not get beyond a goalless draw with relegation candidate Eintracht Braunschweig and so missed the leap directly to the promotion ranks.
After going 0-0 on Monday evening, coach Uwe Rösler's team is now fifth in the table with 27 points - just three points behind leaders Hamburger SV.
After all, the draw after two previous defeats was a respectable success for Eintracht, but it doesn't really help them in the table.
Braunschweig remains in 16th place with only 13 points in acute danger of relegation.
