(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) Cross-border logistics business surges, Chinese practitioners seize opportunities to seek development

China News Service, Beijing, January 11 (Reporter Wu Kan) In Milan, Italy, the warehouse of the Chinese cross-border logistics company Yunke Logistics is busy every day. Boxes of clothing, shoes, hats, smart home appliances and other products are arranged neatly. They are neatly arranged, and the employees orderly sort and pack, attach the waybill, load and ship, and deliver these "Made in China" to European consumers.

At present, the negative impact of the epidemic on the global economy continues, but the cross-border logistics industry has shown great development potential and played an important role in the recovery of the global economy and the stability of the supply chain.

More and more Chinese cross-border logistics practitioners are stepping up their efforts to seize business opportunities against the trend.

Zheng Zixian, chairman of Yunke Logistics, is a "post-90s", and the biggest experience in 2020 is "busy".

"During the epidemic, a lot of the consumption of the Italian people changed from offline to online, and our business became busy. The demand for warehousing and distribution continued to increase, and the business volume increased by about 5 times compared with before the epidemic." Zheng Zixian said.

Under the epidemic situation, global air and sea transportation have largely stagnated. How does Yunke Logistics complete so many waybills?

Zheng Zixian said that this benefited from the company's 6000 square meter overseas warehouse in Milan.

"In Milan, we provide overseas warehousing services for products from China, and then according to the sales orders of the products in Europe, they are shipped and distributed from the warehousing goods prepared in advance. Under the situation that sea and air transportation is blocked, this model makes Chinese manufacturing move It’s faster overseas."

With the advantages of fast delivery time and low transportation costs, overseas warehouse business has become a new development point for many cross-border logistics companies.

In Prague, Czech Republic, the 25,000-square-meter overseas warehouse of the “One Belt One Road” Czech Station Logistics Park shuttles every day with forklifts, and home sweepers, 3D printers and other electronic products from China are shipped from here to European countries.

According to Wu Bin, the operator of the “Belt and Road” Czech station and the head of the logistics sector of Europe Huajie Development Co., Ltd., the logistics park not only has traditional overseas warehouse and distribution services, but also provides comprehensive services for Chinese companies that are expanding in the European market.

"For example, last year we undertook after-sales services such as returns and exchanges for an electronic product manufacturer, and also helped a cross-border e-commerce company recruit technical talents."

Wu Bin said that the development of the company’s cross-border logistics business during the epidemic has also benefited from the increase in the capacity of China-Europe freight trains. The Yiwu-Prague freight train is the preferred mode of transportation. “In 2020, we will total approximately 1,000 trains from Yiwu to Prague. TEU provides collection and distribution services".

"It's not just the bulk goods in overseas warehouses. Last year, China's small parcel business to Australia has also increased significantly." Ye Ting, the head of the Australian station business of the cross-border logistics company 4PX, the Sifang Consumer Division, said that during the epidemic, "reverse "Xianghaitao" is very popular, and Chinese Australians are keen to purchase products from Chinese e-commerce platforms. Chinese books, snacks and snacks are all popular products.

According to Ye Ting, the epidemic has caused air freight rates to rise drastically, thus strengthening the refined operation of small parcel shipping.

"We launched different ways of playing with coupons, mailing, etc. On'Double Eleven', a 10kg package would only cost more than 100 yuan from China to Australia by sea, and the goods can be received in about 30 days, which is very popular with consumers."

The overseas epidemic situation is increasingly severe, and the demand for protective equipment has risen sharply. High-quality anti-epidemic resources from China are continuously delivered to consumers from all over the world through Chinese cross-border logistics companies.

Wu Bin told reporters that the “Belt and Road” Czech station built a bridge for trade, warehousing, and logistics of epidemic prevention materials between China and the Czech Republic. In 2020, more than 4,800 boxes and nearly 28 tons of medical protection materials from China were exported to Europe.

Zheng Zixian said that since March 2020, Yunke Logistics has received a total of 478 pallets of anti-epidemic materials exported from China and distributed a total of 13,472 packages.

"Many people in Italy have received epidemic prevention materials from China through us. As a cross-border logistics practitioner, we are deeply responsible. We must be on standby at any time to ensure that the materials are delivered to the places most needed overseas as soon as possible." (End)
