A custom road radar trash can was noticed in a small hamlet near the town of Longues-sur-Mer (Calvados) in early January, reports

La Renaissance Le Bessin

.

This hoax was set up by the owner of the container, who lives along the D514 departmental road, who hopes that users of this road will slow down at the sight of his device.

“The sticker is a birthday present from my brother-in-law […] I thought the idea was brilliant”, explained the latter.

His initiative did not fail to appeal to the inhabitants of the city.

This stretch of road is dangerous

After observing the road for an hour, the 50-year-old observed a drop in traffic speed in a third of motorists in this locality limited to 70 km / h, notes the local weekly.

The latter also judges an excessive authorized speed compared to the configuration of the road.

At the origin of this gag, therefore: worry.

This small town is densely populated, devoid of sidewalks and its roadway is narrow.

Residents hope to see a positive change in driver behavior with the introduction of this fake radar on the road.
