Großbreitenbach (dpa / th) - Two pedestrians were hit by a car in the Ilm district and seriously injured.
The 42-year-old man and the 46-year-old woman were walking on the road between Willmersdorf and Herschdorf on Saturday evening.
Because of a fast approaching car, the two wanted to change the side of the lane, as the police announced on Sunday.
They did not notice the car approaching from behind.
As a result, the car caught the pedestrians suddenly appearing in front of it almost unchecked.
The two had to be taken to the hospital.
