Kiel (dpa / lno) - residents of Schleswig-Holstein have to be prepared for stricter corona measures at the beginning of the week.

The stricter rules will come into force on Monday and should initially apply until the end of January.

Central measures to contain corona are stricter contact restrictions in public and at home.

Private meetings are only permitted with people from the same household and one other person - regardless of the location.

There are two exceptions: When it comes to caring for children under the age of 14 or people in need of care.

For example, two households can look after their children together.

The state government decided on Friday to revise the state ordinance to combat corona.

In addition, a decree for measures in regions with more than 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week was added.

Schleswig-Holstein is thus implementing the federal-state resolutions from last Tuesday.

Contact restrictions are one of the sharpest swords in the fight against the spread of the corona virus, said Health Minister Heiner Garg (FDP).

He appealed to the Schleswig-Holsteiners to forego any contact that is not absolutely necessary for the next three weeks.

Only in the middle of the week will it be possible to correctly assess how the infection process has developed over Christmas and New Year.

Curfews as in other federal states are not intended as possible measures in the event of high numbers of infections in Schleswig-Holstein.

However, districts and municipalities can restrict freedom of movement to 15 kilometers around the place of residence - if the seven-day incidence is over 200.

"There is no automatism for this measure," said Garg.

One will see in individual cases whether there is an isolated outbreak or whether the virus is widely circulating in the population.

There is a tightening of visits to care facilities.

Furthermore, two people can visit a resident.

However, they must always be the same people and they must be registered.

A new addition is that visitors must present a negative corona (quick) test that is no more than 24 hours old.

Testing should also be offered in the homes.

There are no face-to-face classes in schools until the end of January.

Instead, learning from a distance is the order of the day, for example via video chat on the Internet or via learning management systems.

The graduates are an exception.

They receive learning and preparation offers in the schools.

There is also emergency care for students in grades one to six.

Emergency care is also still available in the daycare centers.

The offer is valid in the federal state for children whose (at least one) legal guardian is urgently active in areas of critical infrastructure, as well as for children of working single parents.

In Schleswig-Holstein, 424 new corona cases had been registered by Saturday evening.

The number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week rose again to 101.2 (Friday 96.2) as the Ministry of Health announced.

The number of people who died with or from Corona rose by 11 to 545.
