Munich (dpa / lby) - In Corona hotspots in Bavaria, the 15-kilometer rule applies from Monday.

This is what it means:

How do I find out if I am affected?

The rule applies to rural districts and urban districts in which there are more than 200 newly infected people per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.

Decisive for this are the values of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), for the first time from Monday (00.00 a.m.).

The Bavarian Ministry of the Interior publishes the affected regions on the Internet at https://www.innenministerium.bayern.de/miniwebs/coronavirus/hotspotregionen/.

How are the 15 kilometers measured?

The 15-kilometer radius always refers to the entire place of residence, not to the exact address.

The calculation is from the local border.

It depends on the beeline and not on the number of kilometers actually driven.

How does this rule work?

The radius of action is limited for tourist day trips.

Hiking, tobogganing, skiing or going for a walk is then only possible within a radius of 15 kilometers around the place of residence, as is visiting cultural sites.

People who are on their way to work, to the doctor or to go shopping, or who want to take their child to kindergarten or school, for example, are not affected.

Church services are also considered a valid reason to leave the 15-kilometer radius.

How can I prove I have a valid reason?

Anyone who is checked by the police must make it credible that they have a special reason.

Written certificates from the employer, for example, are not mandatory, but according to the Ministry of the Interior, they can be helpful.

Can I get visits from people who do not live in a hotspot?

Yes, it is allowed.

However, affected districts or urban districts can prohibit day trips to their region.

When will the 15-kilometer rule be lifted in my region?

To do this, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants must fall within a week.

If this value has been below 200 for at least seven days in a row, the district administration authority can lift the rule.

What happens if I break the 15-kilometer rule?

Then a fine is due, for example 500 euros.

It is possible to deviate from the standard rates.
