Weyarn (dpa / lby) - A car driver drove into an unsecured accident site on Autobahn 8 and injured herself and at least three other people.

First of all, there was a rear-end collision between two cars on Sunday afternoon on the A8 in the direction of Salzburg at the Weyarn junction (Miesbach district), as the police announced.

A 43-year-old woman stopped at the hard shoulder and went to the accident site in the middle lane to provide first aid.

As a result, a 73-year-old driver drove into the unsecured accident site and the stationary cars. The 43-year-old was crushed between the cars and seriously injured. The woman was flown to a hospital in a helicopter. According to the police, the 73-year-old saw the scene of the accident too late. At least two people in the other cars were injured and brought to hospitals. The A8 was initially closed to protect the scene of the accident.
