In France, the climate bill resulting from the Citizen's Convention for the Climate (CCC) is ready, Matignon announced on January 9.
The text should be presented on February 10 in the Council of Ministers before being examined in Parliament from the end of March.
End of the rental of thermal strainers in 2028, ban on advertising for fossil fuels, ban on domestic flights if there is an alternative by train in less than 2:30 are all measures contained in this bill.
The Ministers of Justice and the Ecological Transition Eric Dupond-Moretti and Barbara Pompili announced in November the creation of an "ecocide offense" with sentences of up to ten years in prison and 4.5 million d 'fines.
This maximum penalty must also be found in the bill.
A mixed victory for the CCC
According to the government, some fifty of the 149 measures proposed by the CCC had already been taken up by decree or in the finance law, and this new text should include as many.
But this bill, which comprises 65 articles divided into six titles, is well below the recommendations made by the CCC for Sylvain Burquier, one of its 150 members, who regrets it even if for him, the fight continues.
“
Everything is basically there, but in a slightly smaller way, which is a shame
,” he laments at the

.
For example, the weight on vehicles which went from 1.4 tonnes with a weight penalty to 1.8 tonnes, which means that this excludes a lot of vehicles.
We had a recommendation to ban transport, by plane, when there was an alternative by train until four o'clock, it went to two and a half hours

(Re) listen: Citizen's convention for the climate: "We must adapt reality to our measures, and not the other way around"
“
There is an effort that is being made, it must be recognized,
however, he admits
.
Given the current economic situation where we cannot impose certain things, we are aware of this.
The rest is courage and political decision.
We made a recommendation.
Me, I believe that it is not sufficient on many points.
Afterwards, today, we are starting a citizen lobby fight to seek arbitration from parliamentarians in the coming months ”.
