Augsburg (AP) - FC Augsburg has criticized the penalty decision in the home defeat against VfB Stuttgart (1: 4).
"The sticking point was clearly the penalty," said manager Stefan Reuter, criticizing the whistle on Sunday, which had led to 1-0 for VfB in the tenth minute thanks to Nicolas Gonzalez.
"From my point of view that was definitely not a penalty."
Reece Oxford stood on Mateo Klimowicz's foot in the penalty area, referee Daniel Schlager resolutely decided on a penalty.
"From my point of view, it wasn't a penalty," said Augsburg coach Heiko Herrlich, who criticized the whistle, which he thought was a decisive factor in the game.
FCA professional Daniel Caligiuri also made a decision after viewing the TV pictures and spoke of a “wrong decision”.
