Hamburg (dpa) - «Tagesschau» spokesman Constantin Schreiber is surprised that some viewers have compared him with the comic hero «Superman» after his 8pm debut on ARD.
“I found it interesting how I seem to appear to people who, in some cases, saw me for the first time.
The Superman comparison in particular surprised me, ”said the 41-year-old in an interview with the editorial network Germany (RND).
On Monday a week ago, Schreiber presented the 8 pm edition of the “Tagesschau” for the first time.
Many then commented on Twitter about his appearance, some compared him to "Superman"

«I primarily define myself as a journalist who works with content.
But it is clear to me that other things are also considered on this stage, ”Schreiber told the RND.
The core element of the job is to convey the seriousness that the “Tagesschau” brand stands for.
When asked what news he would like to announce in the «Tagesschau», he told the RND: «'The corona pandemic has been overcome.'

Schreiber is a Middle East expert and has reported from the region for many years for the news channel n-tv.
He received a Grimme Prize for his German-Arabic series “Marhaba - Ankommen in Deutschland”.
