January 09, 2021Twitter permanently suspends Donald Trump's account for "the risk of further inciting violence".

The anger of the American president is immediate: he tries to use the official account @POTUS, but Twitter immediately removes his tweets.

And then he resorts to a traditional White House statement.

He says he is not surprised by the suspension: "I had foreseen it. By suspending my account they want to silence me, they want to silence you and the 75 million great patriots who voted for me," says Trump.

Then he assures: "they will not silence us. We are dealing with various other sites and we will soon have a big announcement, in the meantime we are evaluating the possibility of building our own platform", he adds, addressing his supporters.

Twitter's decision would have rained unexpectedly on the White House and would have made the president even more nervous, already on a rampage over the possible second impeachment.

An indictment that Trump does not understand: "He has no intention of resigning because he does not believe he has done anything wrong", leaks the White House.

According to rumors, while the clashes in Congress were underway, Trump was wandering around the White House satisfied without understanding why no one cheered him over what was happening.

Not only that: during the assault he would have tried to reach republican senators by telephone to convince them to overturn the result of the vote.

Twitter's decision to suspend him also sends his son Donald Jr on a rampage, who talks about free speech "dead with big tech".

And it unleashes an outcry among the conservatives.

Republican Senator Rick Scott speaks of "shame": "Twitter suspended President Trump but allows the Chinese to brag about the genocide and the Ayatollah to talk about the possibility of wiping Israel off geographic maps," laments Scott.

Nikki Haley, the former UN ambassador and aspiring Republican to the White House in 2024, uses equally harsh words: "Silencing the people, not to mention the American president, is what happens in China, not in our country" .

I also criticize the New York Post by Rupert Murdoch.

"Twitter is led by American liberals, who test only one type of person and only one political area", highlights the editorial board of the newspaper according to which "or Section 230 - the rule that guarantees immunity to social media, relieving them of all responsibility - it is revoked and Twitter takes responsibility for what is tweeted, or else it has to step back and let the public decide what is acceptable and what is not. "

While exposing itself to violent criticism, Twitter has decided to act in an attempt not to encourage further violence.

In the note that accompanied his decision, he explains that "plans for future armed protests have already begun to proliferate on Twitter, including a proposed second attack on Congress on January 17", a few days before Joe Biden's inauguration ceremony and while Trump will still be in the White House.

The president is expected to leave Washington on January 19 for Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

On the 19th a wave of pardons from Trump is expected, including that for his children and perhaps even for himself.
