09 January 2021 "I thank the president Attilio Fontana who unexpectedly proposed me a difficult and complex task in a particularly complex moment": so said Letizia Moratti, new vice president and councilor for Welfare of Lombardy, at a press conference.

"It is a responsibility that I have decided to take - he added - to put myself at the service of the citizens of Lombardy".

 To convince Letizia Moratti to accept the new role was the "firm" conviction of the governor Attilio Fontana.

"An important point, which will be my priority together with President Fontana and the Executive Committee, is to review the organization to ensure that there is greater attention to the territory. It is a commitment that we have made and that I intend to continue with determination", Letizia Moratti said.

"The region's vaccine plan is moving forward according to the times. We will do everything possible to improve it further," Moratti said.

the EMA has approved the Moderna vaccine - he added - and it is also good news that the European Union has bought other vaccines, also because it is not possible to buy them directly and we have to follow the European rules. with these new doses we can increase the vaccine plan. We will do it when we know concretely what the government plan is ", concluded the new councilor.

On the communication with Commissioner Domenica Arcuri, Moratti explained that "I have not yet made contact with him. I will certainly take him as soon as he takes office".

Letizia Moratti is the new councilor for Welfare, in place of Giulio Gallera.

The former mayor of Milan is also the new vice-president of the Giunta Fontana in place of Fabrizio Sala, in the Forza Italia share, who retains the Department of Education.
