Leipzig (AP) - Bundesliga club RB Leipzig wants to extend the contract with his midfield strategist Marcel Sabitzer and has denied an alleged interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Neither the agent, nor the player, nor Tottenham or anyone else called and said they wanted to sign the player now, said CEO Oliver Mintzlaff on Saturday before the second-placed game against Borussia Dortmund on Sky.

"We know the contract terms and will do our homework," he emphasized.

Sabitzer's contract expires in summer 2022.

"We're deeply relaxed," said Mintzlaff.

At the same time, he confirmed that there will be no signings in the foreseeable future without players being sold.

With the commitment of Dominik Szoboszlai and Josko Gvardiol, they went into advance payments and brought in players who weren't quite as cheap.

"Accordingly, I can at least say that we couldn't do anything in the summer if we didn't give up players," said the CEO.

The Hungarian Szoboszlai was recently brought in by Red Bull Salzburg for an estimated transfer fee of 20 million euros and given a contract until 2025.

Gvardiol is coming from Dinamo Zagreb this summer.

The Croatian U21 international had signed a contract until 2026.

The fee for the defender should have been 18 million euros.
