Mainz (AP) - Eintracht Frankfurt spoiled Bo Svensson's debut as head coach of FSV Mainz 05 and heightened the relegation worries of the bottom of the table with the first Bundesliga away win in the Rhein-Main derby.

The Portuguese André Silva shot the Hessians on Saturday with two converted penalty kicks in the 24th and 72nd minute to 2-0 (1-0) success.

After the third win in a row, the Frankfurters mix with 23 points in the fight for the international starting positions.

Mainz is at the bottom of the table with just six points.

The new hope Svensson was signed on January 4th by the Austrian second division club FC Liefering to save the FSV from the first relegation in 14 years.

But the 41-year-old Dane could not accomplish miracles within a few days.

After two wins in Augsburg (2: 0) and against Bayer Leverkusen (2: 1), Eintracht started the game confidently and dominated the action.

Filip Kostic checked FSV goalkeeper Robin Zentner twice in the first 15 minutes, who returned between the posts after his injury-related failure in Munich and acted confidently as usual.

Frankfurt was clearly better in terms of play than the home side, who fought against it.

But that wasn't enough to embarrass the guests.

The lead by André Silva, who hit him from the penalty spot after a foul by FSV defender Moussa Niakhaté, was deserved.

The Hessians let the ball and opponents run, but developed too little pull to the goal.

The 05ers lacked any creativity on the offensive, so national goalkeeper Kevin Trapp had a quiet first half.

After the restart, nothing changed in the course of the game.

Frankfurt got off to a furious start and had two good chances from Erik Durm and Silva.

After 54 minutes it was dangerous for the first time in front of the Eintracht goal.

After a nice pass from Jean-Paul Boëtius, Jonathan Burkardt was free to shoot, but narrowly missed.

120 seconds later, the 20-year-old hit the post with a header.

Suddenly the dominance of Frankfurt was gone.

When referee Bastian Dankert pointed to the penalty spot after an hour, the FSV could briefly hope to equalize.

But according to the TV images, the referee reversed his decision.

Shortly afterwards, Burkardt also gave away his third big chance in front of Trapp.

Now Mainz was on the trigger, but on a Frankfurt counterattack, Dankert gave another penalty after Naikhaté fouled Martin Hinteregger.

Silva turned ice cold and decided the game with his eleventh goal of the season.
