Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The number of convictions of sex criminals has increased.
As can be seen from the latest conviction statistics, 1804 sex criminals were legally convicted in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2019, 4.4 percent more than in the previous year.
Compared to 2015, the number even increased by 28.9 percent.
The number of convictions for crimes against the state and public order has increased even more.
5862 convicts were registered, 14.8 percent more than in the previous year.
Since 2015, the number of these convictions, including resistance against law enforcement officers, has increased by as much as 41.8 percent.
Convictions for theft and embezzlement fell.
The number of convicted criminals also fell slightly overall, from 153,600 in 2018 to 153,098 in 2019. This corresponds to a decrease of 0.3 percent.
