Chemnitz (dpa / sn) - According to the fire department, two people were slightly injured in a fire in the basement of an apartment building in Chemnitz.
When the emergency services arrived, a washing machine had burned in the area of the back entrance, as the fire department announced on Saturday.
The fire could be put out quickly on Friday evening, but all 16 residents had to leave the house due to the heavy smoke development.
After the stairwell and the apartments were ventilated, people were able to return after about an hour and a half, the police said.
