Citizen Fatima Freshan (19 years), who is expected to graduate from the Higher Colleges of Technology in Fujairah, next year, has a passion for mechanics that pushed her to choose this major academically, as she studies mechanical engineering, and dreams of winning the Nobel Prize in Physics.

Fatima, the outstanding student, refers to the great role that the love of science and her scientific contributions at the secondary stage played in enhancing her choice of mechanical engineering, saying: “These posts increased my attachment to mechanical engineering, and contributed to the development of the skills that I subdued and invested in my major.”

Fatima, who is one of the top 10 in the Emirate of Fujairah, participated in the general and advanced branch in the public high school in 2018, and the first in the class in the 10th and 11th grades of the "Chemistry Olympiad", as part of the Creators Program, when she was a student in the 11th grade in 2017.

Fatima explained to "Emirates Today" that her participation in the "Chemistry Olympiad", in which she won the first place, paved the way for her to take an intelligence test. The top 10 winners in the Scientific Olympiad in the Creators Program had the opportunity to do this test, and she had a high IQ It reached 137, and was classified among the UAE geniuses, and was awarded the Emirates Award for Young Scientists, which aims to provide an opportunity for young innovators, discover and refine their capabilities, spread the culture of applied science among members of society, and motivate outstanding students and show them scientifically.

In the 12th grade, Fatima was nominated for the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Olympiad within the Creators Program, and she chose the Physics Olympiad, in which she won the sixth place at the state level in 2018.

In addition to Fatima's scholarly contributions, she has a literary participation, as she translated through her great love for reading, through which she finds herself. For two consecutive years (2017 and 2018), she participated in the "Arab Reading Challenge", and the second time she was honored among the top 50 at the state level, Fatima enjoys "reading books on literature and self-development, as well as international books and novels, especially those that have been converted into films and cartoons."

In addition to this literary participation, Fatima participated, during the year 2018, in the Mohammed bin Zayed Council for Future Generations, and in the youth retreat within the activities of the Innovation Month, and the Ministerial Retreat of the Ministry of Education, which discussed educational topics.

Fatima owes the credit, after God Almighty, for continuing her successes in the college with distinction, to her mother “who spared no effort, after the death of her father, in supporting and encouraging her to succeed and excel, and pushing her towards participation to prove her skills and show her abilities, and work to strengthen them, along with the Emirates Association To nurture the talented, who showed her talent and was keen to promote it, and thanks to her, she was able to participate in the Olympiad for two consecutive years and reaped success.

Graduation gift .. «car machine»

Fatima still keeps a gift that she graduates from her family in high school, which is a car machine. The intention behind her request was not only to satisfy her passion for mechanics, but to ensure that it is preserved and to benefit from it in the future in conducting experiments during the study of "chemical engineering", specifically for the graduation project .
